Education and Experience (Not in order of importance) Possess a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration or related field; a graduate degree in public/business administration is preferred. Have a background, and at least five (5) years of experience, as a manager or assistant in a full-service, governmental entity. Have a strong background in governmental financial management; have significant experience in the preparation and administration of operating and capital budgets. Possess strong general management skills, and experience in a comparable governmental unit, with a background of progressively responsible experience and demonstrated capability to successfully administer and direct activities of a similar unit of local government. Have experience in comprehensive community development during a period of growth and change, and during economic downturns. Have sufficient experience to evaluate the Township’s organizations structure, staffing, and operations, all toward maintaining a highly responsive, productive, high-morale staff and workforce. Have experience in conflict resolution and consensus building; have strong skills in facilitation. Have experience in labor relations – with a record for fairness in dealing with all employees. Have experience in goal-setting and strategic planning in a local government setting. Be a skilled negotiator and communicator, with the ability to represent the best interests of the Township. Have experience in land use and zoning issues relevant to Ohio townships. Be a highly adaptable public administrator, who can openly accept and work effectively in a climate of political assertiveness and interaction, calling for timely and impartial administrative responsiveness in a challenging environment.
